ESR3 Charalampos Kalalas (CTTC)

Work Package 2

Charalampos received the Diploma degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, in 2011, and the M.Sc. degree in wireless systems from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), in 2014. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Signal Theory and Communications Department, Technical University of Catalonia. He has held research positions both in the industry (Ericsson Eurolab and ABB Corporate Research) and academia (KTH and Aalborg University).

Since 2014, he has been with the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher in project ADVANTAGE. His research interests include random-access protocols and resource-allocation techniques with applications to smart energy and networked control systems. In the context of ADVANTAGE, he focused on the design and performance analysis of efficient medium access control protocols for smart grid applications in cellular networks.

Charalampos is currently involved in European Commission project 5GCAR (https://5gcar.eu) which focuses on the design of the future wireless vehicular communication.
